Computers for African schools
Timbmet Silverman is helping to improve education facilities for the children of a small Ghanaian town, after donating spare IT equipment to a new primary school constructed by one of its timber suppliers.
PC.s, monitors, keyboards, printers and IT accessories are en-route to Samreboi in Ghana where Samartex has constructed a new school close to its sawmill, as part of the company.s policy to support its 2000 plus employees and their 15000 dependents.
The equipment will be adapted by the school.s IT team to suit the pupils learning needs and then installed in a special computer suite.
Samartex is one of West Africa.s leading exporters of hardwoods, with a proven commitment to sustainable forest management. Timbmet Silverman is actively working with the company to further develop its forestry practices.
